Open canoeing and bushcraft remains our most popular activity with all of our customers. Join us on one of our fantastic canoe day trips on the Devon Rivers Dart, Exe, Teign or the historic Exeter Canal, or for more than one day, take a mini-expedition of canoe camping adventures on the stunning Rivers Dart in Devon and River Wye in South Wales. Either book the canoes and river guide exclusively as a group, or join us on one of our scheduled trips listed on our scheduled courses page.
Either combine our open canoeing trips with bush craft basics, or take our Essential Bushcraft course for more in-depth bush craft skills. Whatever your age, ability or experience, our instructors will ensure you learn, have fun and work together with the rest of the group.
The outdoor environment offers so much more than adrenaline pursuits. Understanding our local environments and habitats and knowing how to live within them provides hours of fun and a greater experience than any book or TV programme. Learn skills such as traditional fire lighting, wood carving, foraging, and natural cordage.
Follow the course of the river and let it unravel its beauty and mystique as the wildlife surrounds you. Travel in a traditional open Canadian canoe packed with all the essentials you will need to survive just as our ancestors would have and experience the peace and tranquility of the river. Spot Kingfishers flying from tree to tree whilst seals play in the water, and learn some basic bushcraft and campcraft skills along the way.
For a longer canoe, bushcraft and campcraft experience and to gain skills in more depth, try one of our two to five day mini-expeditions on Devon's river Dart or the river Wye in South Wales. Skills will be passed on allowing you to gain deeper understanding of traditional canoeing, bushcraft and wilderness survival techniques. Wild food foraging, traditional fire lighting and campcraft skills, such as spoon carving could all be achieved through our qualified and experienced instruction. No experience is necessary so why not sample one of our canoe days to see what this slower pace of life can offer.
