Hire a canal boat in one of the many beautiful locations throughout the UK, and cruise along the waterway to experience the ultimate tranquility and stunning views. Boat trips operate from many of the most picturesque spots on the waterway network, taking in the stunning scenes and cruising through some of the most beautiful little villages throughout the UK. Before you set off you'll be given full instruction on the handling, features and safety of the boat. Your time on-board will allow you time to explore the canal and stunning countryside. Also why not Stop off for a bite to eat at one of the local pubs, cafes,or restaurants for lunch, or if you prefer to stay on board the boat and take in all the stunning scenery and calmness, then why not bring your own picnic & drinks.

    EXAMPLE ROUTES:

    • Bradford-on-Avon > Avoncliff > Bath > Bradford-on-Avon (short route - 1 lock) - travel from Bradford-on-Avon to Avoncliff. Moor up and spend Friday evening at The Cross Guns Pub for a bite to eat and a few drinks. On Saturday head to Bath, stopping en-route at The George Inn Bathampton for lunch and drinks. Finish up in Bath where you can stroll into the city for a night out. Return trip on Sunday.
    • OR Bradford-on-Avon > Devizes > Return: Depart the boatyard approx 3pm on Friday. Travel approx 3 hours to Semington and moor up. A short walk to 'The Somerset Arms' for food & drink. On Saturday set off eastbound again and stop for a pint & lunch at 'The Barge Inn'. Set off again and head for 'Foxhangers', where you can either moor up, or take on the next 7 locks. Turn the boat around immediately before the 'Caen Hill Locks' and moor up. There is a pub called 'The Black Horse Inn' at the top of the 'Caen Hill Locks'; or you can walk a bit further into Devizes for a few more options. Bradford-on-Avon to Bath is also possible.

    EXAMPLE ITINERARY:

    Friday

    • Possible morning activity.
    • Mid afternoon: Pick up boats at Bradford-on-Avon. Safety brief and depart.
    • Take the boats as far as Cross Guns Pub at Avoncliff on the first night, where you and the lads can moor up and spend the night in the pub.

    Saturday

    • Continue your cruise to Bath - possible stop en route at the pub in Bathampton.
    • Possible afternoon activity.
    • Night out in Bath.

    Sunday

    • Recovery!
    • Return trip to Bradford-on-Avon.
    • Stop off at Bathampton for Sunday lunch in the pub - a great way to finish the trip!
    • Drop the boats back Sunday late afternoon (by 4pm), or Monday by 09:30am.

    ACTIVITIES: As for activities, there are limited options in Bath itself. Some require a bit of transport. The Friday morning or Saturday afternoon options work best.

    1) Boat images are for illustrative purposes.

    2) All trips include a £50 collision damage waiver and £50 fuel supplement per boat. You will be refunded for any unused fuel when you return the boat.

    3) ***SECURITY DEPOSIT*** On arrival there may be a refundable damage deposit of up to £1000 per boat. The amount is at the discretion of the boat yard on collection of the boats (first impressions count!). This is taken as a pre-authorised credit card payment, which will be returned (all being well) when you return the boats.

    4) If you return the boat on Sunday rather than Monday, the boat needs to be returned by 4pm. Please double check this return time when you pick up.
